What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a form of skin therapy that involves puncturing the skin using a device made up of tiny sterile needles. This commonly used treatment is designed to provide patients with relief from acne scarring, collagen loss, sun damage, and more. It has also shown great success in the treatment of stretch marks. This treatment is unique in that it uses the body’s natural healing process to generate cellular turnover and increase the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in new, younger, fresher skin.

How Does Microneedling Work?

During microneedling, a professional provider goes over the targeted area of your skin with a special device covered in micro-needles that create hundreds of invisible, tiny puncture wounds. Treatment with PRP involves using the patient’s own blood as a resource for skin healing. PRP contains growth factors and proteins that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin.
