What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a form of skin therapy that involves puncturing the skin using a device made up of tiny sterile needles. This commonly used treatment is designed to provide patients with relief from acne scarring, collagen loss, sun damage, and more. It has also shown great success in the treatment of stretch marks. This treatment is unique in that it uses the body’s natural healing process to generate cellular turnover and increase the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in new, younger, fresher skin.

Add PRP To Your Microneedling Treatment
The benefits of of microneedling can be enhanced when used in combination with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). Studies have shown that PRP can expedite the healing process and reduce the appearance of pigmentation and acne scarring when used with microneedling. Treatment with PRP involves using the patient’s own blood as a resource for skin healing. PRP contains growth factors and proteins that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Because the blood is taken directly from the patient, this procedure is very safe and the risks of any adverse events with this treatment are minimal.
By using microneedling to deliver the PRP into the skin, the two treatments work together for more rapid collagen production. Results can vary based on a number of factors including needle depth, overall skin health, number of passes, and number of treatments received. Most patients will notice a youthful radiance and tightening of their skin directly following microneedling with PRP treatment, but it is recommended to receive 4-6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart to maintain collagen production and to optimize skin rejuvenation.
